Iphone with applications

A good app should make your life easier and help your business increase productivity. Any small business owner will tell you that running a business can mean filling a lot of different roles as once, so anything that can streamline business or make life just a little bit easier can mean time saved and money earned. I have put together a list of the best apps that you should check out depending on what you need for your small business.
Finance and Accounting – Gusto
Gusto can help you run your own HR and finance department. With Gusto you can manage payroll, benefits, and compliance. This app also lets you calculate and file payroll taxes (at state and federal levels), track sick days and vacation time, and more. Gusto is a paid service but it offers a lot of benefits to a small business for the price.
Finance and Accounting – FreshBooks
If you’re looking for a finance solution without a hefty price tag that is geared towards small businesses you should take a look at FreshBooks. This app provides a simple way to manage and track invoices, automatically bill with recurring invoices, accept credit cards on your mobile device and track and organize your expenses. FreshBooks also integrates with a lot of other platforms and apps.
Project Management – Asana
Projects and multiple layers of sub-tasks can be easily prioritized and assigned a date within Asana. There is a desktop and app version of Asana. It allows for multiple people to collaborate and share information on each item in Asana. There are a couple of different views available that allows you to visually view your projects in a dashboard.  Asana integrates with a lot of other platforms, including Evernote, Google Drive, Box, Slack, MailChimp, WordPress, and ZenDesk. The basic version of Asana is free, which is a good option to get started with the app to see how it helps your business and there is a more feature-rich version of Asana that starts at $9.99 per month.
Organization – Evernote
Evernote is the app that helps you keep your notes organized and it allows you to store your ideas by voice, text, or photo.  Never forget another bright idea again! Memos are synced and they’re accessible anywhere, and searchable to help you quickly find what you need. You can store and share your personal and business to-do lists, reminders and notes across mobile and desktop devices.
Communication – Slack
Slack is an instant messaging platform that is available through mobile or desktop and all conversations sync between the two. With Slack you can organize your team’s conversations into separate private or public channels or send a direct message. It allows for conversations to be more organized and focuses the conversation so that people who aren’t on the project don’t have to review messages that aren’t relevant to them. This tool helps cut down on the back and forth in email. The app also makes it easy to drag, drop and share images, PDFs and other files within the chat box. It helps your business stay organized around the conversations because it automatically indexes and archives any message so that you can easily find it later.
