March 2019 Tip Sheet

Wake Up and Smell the Coffee!
Henry Ford once said, “The only thing worse than training your employees and having them leave – is not training them and having them stay.” But do companies really follow that sage advice? According to The Talent Equation, companies nationally spend more money on providing coffee for their employees than on training the employees themselves. On average, companies spend less than $68 per day to train their workers to get them up to speed and to maintain the skill level necessary to effectively do their jobs. And, training does more than build competencies. Offering an employee development program is a good way to attract and retain the best employees within your organization as it inspires employee loyalty and devotion. Are you adequately training your managers to do their job which is to work more effectively with your people? Things to Think About
·         If poison is past its expiration date, is it more poisonous or no
longer poisonous?
·          Which letter is silent in the word “scent”, the S or the C?
·         Why is the letter “W” called double u? Shouldn’t it be called
double v?
·         Maybe it is oxygen that is slowly killing us and it just takes 75 to
100 years to fully work.
·         The word “swims” upside down is still “swims”.
·         Every time you clean something, you just make something else
dirty.
