To become good managers, we typically follow some form of technical education:
We become engineers, technicians, controllers, food scientists or obtain some other technical skill. As we progress through the ranks, or as the companies we lead experience growth, we might even see the need to develop some business skills: we work very hard to obtain an MBA, or similar qualifications.
Or at least that is the route Chris Pauwels followed.
In Chris’ 30-year international career, which brought him from Production Management to General Management, he never spent time studying the most important ingredient of all in any business: the people by whom, and for whom, it is run. They are typically the largest cost factor by far, because of direct cost, sunk cost or missed opportunities.
And most people think they can “wing” this part of our business…
Chris believes this is a Blue Ocean of opportunity!
With AcuMax Index, he provides “Maximum Insight into People” to his clients on a very professional level and assists them in becoming more efficient and effective via experienced and wise council.
Chris graduated from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, with a Graduate Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, obtained a MBA at Potchefstroom University, South Africa, and completed various executive MBA courses at the University of Michigan and the University of Chicago.
He and his wife and have settled in Muskegon, MI, where we enjoy all beautiful West Michigan has to offer!
